I recently had the pleasure of attending the annual Elaine Construction holiday party – my fourth in as many years.
I was joined by a few other lucky invitees including Larry Miller, and his mom, of Salem Glass, Dave Noon of J&M Brown Company, Inc. and Jim Burke of Allegheny Contract, all well respected industry veterans. Every year the event is carefully planned by our host Lisa Wexler, but this year was special as it marked the 70th anniversary of the firm originally founded by Lisa’s grandfather; Leo in 1947, then grown by her dad, my good friend; Ken until 2007 when she was named president. The evening also marked Nick Murray’s retirement after 40 years in the field. Nick is one of the best superintendent’s I’ve ever worked with and learned from – his experience, skills and humble manner will be missed.
It’s our long term relationship with Ken, Lisa and the whole Wexler/Elaine family, as well as the other folks mentioned, that allows us to collaboratively perform as a team and provide our clients with superior service. I look forward to working with Lisa’s children as the next generation continues the Wexler/Elaine legacy.
Happy new year!
