Real estate strategies for businesses on the move.

Fort Point PROJECT MANAGEMENT in the Community

Partner Christine Mosholder was honored by New England Women in Real Estate (NEWIRE) for her involvement in a community service project in the Mission Hill neighborhood of Boston.

Each year, the NEWIRE Development Committee issues a request for proposals (RFP) for non-profits in need of real estate consulting services. In her role as project manager on the most recent project for the Mission Hill Health Movement, Mosholder helped develop conceptual plans, phased implementation options and an associated construction budget to support capital campaign efforts.  The goal was to redevelop 1534 Tremont Street and use the space as a community health, meeting and ADA resource center.

The Mission Hill Health Movement (MHHM) acquired the 1,800 square foot split level building to support community health initiatives and has since secured two tenants, The Boston Self Help Center (BSHC) and Mission Hill Main Streets.

Additionally, Christine co-founded a non profit, The Furniture Trust, an organization committed to the environmentally responsible disposition of unwanted office furniture and supplies often created as a result of a relocation project. The Furniture Trust accepts donated office furnishings and equipment and distributes these items to local schools and non profits. Recently, Taunton, Brockton and Boston Public Schools received office furniture, office supplies and software for their classrooms and administrative offices.

Senior Project Manager Jeff Wagner leveraged his extensive project management skills to help those affected by the Gulf Coast Hurricanes.

As a part of Operation Rebound, Jeff helped manage over 200 volunteers as they built frames and loaded materials at the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station. The frames for five houses were shipped 800 miles to Mississippi for assembly and five low-income, homeless families are expected to move into the 1200-square-foot houses in the spring. Operation Rebound was formed when members of three South Shore churches were looking for ways to help the flood-stricken Gulf Coast.

“I truly believe we accomplished what everyone else said was impossible. We not only completed a build out and more in the short time frame allowed, but our new space is beautiful considering the building we had to work with. Our employees are all very happy with their new work space and we never lost a day of operations.”
